Congregational Meeting Recap
Mount Calvary Friends,
We held our annual meeting Sunday, May 19, which included a vote on the sale of the north property. An amendment to the motion was made and approved, resulting in the following resolution:
“Be it resolved that Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 3930 Rahn Road, Eagan, MN 55122; and its members, hereby on this date and day, Sunday, May 19, 2024, approve allowing the Church Council to negotiate the sale and close of approximately 2.1 acres (the north property) to Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) for the purpose of development by Lennar Builders for a Veterans’ Village as represented in provided sketch and to negotiate an agreement for the north parking lot usage and cost-sharing arrangements for maintenance and improvements; with Mount Calvary Lutheran Church receiving a fair market price based on the appraised value of the land.”
The congregation voted 110 to 7 in favor of allowing the council to move forward with the negotiations of the sale. We will keep you updated on the progress of these negotiations in the coming months on our website at www.mtcalvary.com/veterans-housing. We also revealed the draft Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Welcoming Statement that our RIC Team has been building as part of our process in becoming an RIC Congregation through Reconciling Works. Team members include Jeremy Bierlein, Rebecca Gierok, Brian Hornbecker, and Jean Taylor. You can read the draft statement here and are invited to email ric@mtcalvary.com with any feedback.
Thank you for being a part of our church community and for your continued support and involvement.
