I joined the staff at Mount Calvary in 1996 as Business Administrator. I graduated from the University of North Dakota with both my bachelor's and master's degree in business and communications. Prior to working at Mount Calvary, I worked for 12 years in the for-profit business world in areas of finance, sales and marketing, business development, process improvement and human resources. At Mount Calvary my primary areas of responsibility are finance, facilities, technology, human resources, office management, planning and supervision.
I live in Inver Grove Heights with my husband, Joe, and our two dogs, Bentley and Jack. We have two adult children, Megan and Thomas. I love spending time at the cabin with family and friends, traveling, reading, yoga, and hiking.
I've been a member of Mount Calvary since 1984 and starting in 2005, became its first Ministry Coordinator. My education is primarily in music and early childhood education. I enjoy working with the staff and congregation at Mount Calvary. I lead the Stephen Ministry group and serve as the coordinator for visitation. I do the planning for the worship assistants on Sunday mornings (greeter, ushers, etc) and help with the new members as they join. Some of my interests & hobbies are family, travel, photography, music, reading and my backyard birds.
Brian Hornbecker- Faith Formation/Communications Coordinator
I am a recent graduate of Warburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa, having completed my degree there after a fifteen-year career in budgeting, strategy and human resources in the federal government. I grew up in western Maryland and have spent most of my life in the Washington, DC Metro area. I transplanted myself to the Midwest a few years ago but I am brand new to the Twin Cities area, so I am looking forward to exploring and learning about my new home. I will be marrying my fiancé, Josh in June, and we will be living right here in Eagan. I’m excited about my new position as Faith Formation/Communications Coordinator at Mount Calvary and about becoming part of the community here.
Deb Jones-Thompson - Administrative Assistant
I am newly retired from a career in mortgage banking working on both the residential side of the business, as well as commercial mortgages. I started out as a receptionist in a small branch office and worked my way up to the corporate offices becoming a manager of several departments. I enjoyed my career, but now am very excited about this new position of Administrative Assistant with Mount Calvary. My husband Mark and I have lived in Eagan for 15 years and very much enjoy the community. We both like to golf and winter getaways to Arizona or Florida are something we look forward to when the snow starts to fall.
I joined the Mount Calvary staff in 2005, first as the youth and family administrative assistant and then as the bookkeeper. I graduated from Mankato State University in elementary education. My motivation and organization skills are great assets in performing the accounting duties for the church. As the bookkeeper, I assist in the preparation of financial reports and projects; perform payroll and accounts payable duties; and complete the reconciliation of cash management and contributions.
Bob Grissom – Maintenance Service Technician
I joined the staff at Mount Calvary in February of 2016 as the maintenance services technician. I was an aircraft mechanic for 30 years, and then I worked for the City of Richfield. My hobby is rebuilding old cars, and I like to snowshoe in the winter. I currently live in Apple Valley with my wife, Sue.
Beth Jerzak - Youth & Family Admin. Assistant
I am the Youth and Family Administrative Assistant. I started my position here in January 2010. Part of my job is working with confirmation, I set up field trips and service projects for the youth, I also organize the Junior and Senior High trips. I am still learning the job and I am so excited to work with the families of Mount Calvary. I graduated from Saint Cloud State University in 1999 where I received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I taught for nine years, most of which was Preschool kids! I now have a small daycare in my home. My husband, Brian, and I have been members of Mount Calvary since January of 2002. We have two beautiful boys, Gabe and Nathan. We feel truly blessed to be a part of the Mount Calvary community!
Shirlee Klang - Office Assistant
I joined Mount Calvary in 1963. I work at the Welcome Desk and in the church office and am the funeral luncheon co-chair.
In addition I play in the Adult Hand Bell Choir. I live in Eagan with my husband, Maynard. We have four adult children and many grandchildren. I enjoy quilting, reading and traveling.
Marlys Peterson - Office Assistant
I grew up in Crosby, North Dakota and attended business college in Fargo, ND. I moved to Eagan, MN in 1968 where I worked for an insurance company for many years.
I joined Mount Calvary in 1968 and began working in the church office in 1983. Many things have changed in the church office since then and now I am responsible for the weekly contribution entry into our church management system and account reconciliation.
I have one son and two grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with my family, crafting, eating out with friends and traveling when I can.
Kay Wandersee - Office Assistant
I have been a member of Mount Calvary since 1978 and have been on church council, various ministry teams and other activities over the years. I have a paralegal degree from Inver Hills Community College. I have been working in the church office since 2002 after retiring from Lockheed Martin as a paralegal. I have two daughters and live in Eagan with my husband, Tim. I enjoy our lake cabin, like to read and crochet, and love to travel.
Brian Jerzak - Community Night Supervisor
My family and I have been members at Mount Calvary since January of 2002 and began working with the church in 2007. I grew up in small town Minnesota, graduated from St. Cloud State University and have been living in the south metro since 1999.
My full-time job is across town in Eagan, but my professional passion is writing. I have been a freelance writer on the side for a number of publications for over ten years.
I currently live in Apple Valley with my wife, Beth and my two boys, Gabe and Nathan.
Marianne Adelmann - Community Night Supervisor
I've been attending Mount Calvary since 2000 and have been active as a volunteer in many activities, e.g., altar service, welcome desk, Eve Circle, book club, just to name a few. Starting in 2014, I signed on as a Community Night Building Supervisor and really enjoy greeting and meeting the people who use our wonderful church as their meeting place. Other activities that keep me busy during retirement are gardening, exercise classes, traveling, and more volunteer work, especially at the MSP International Airport and the Wescott Library.
